The community organisation was founded by Esme Knight in 2009 with the goal of raising visibility and acceptance of the Pagan community among the wider public, dispelling misconceptions and advocating for accurate representation in the media. The free festival event in Nottingham ran for ten years, hosting a 'pride' parade through the city streets followed by an event of live music, talks, stalls, dance, and community attended by thousands of people

PAGAN & HEATHEN SYMPOSIUM

A member since its inception in 2012, PHS is a 'round table' organisation comprising of representatives from a number of national organisations that support and advocate for the Pagan & Heathen communities of the UK.
Working effectively together towards common goals; discussing issues that affect the community on a national level and feeding that information back into the community. Issues such as RE in schools, safeguarding events, advocacy, liaising with government bodies on inclusive legislation, and promoting a fair and accurate representation of Paganism and Heathenry in today’s society.

Woman of Substance Award 2011

In celebration of the centenary of International Women's Day, Nottingham City Council and the Mayors Office awarded 100 women from the city who were actively working with and making a difference within their communities with a special recognition in honour of the many women throughout history that have shaped our society through their struggle and sacrifice. Esme received her award from the Sheriff of Nottingham, who, along with the office of Mayor that year, were both held by women.
